Fuji Excellent news for macro fans

certainly, but there would definitely be cheaper ways of doing that. An extension tube is an extension tube. The only thing that makes these of any interest at all is that they have the electrical contacts so you can still auto focus. Any other extension tube will allow to focus closer, but you will need to focus manually.

they could be added to the zeiss lenses for AF and exposure info though

There are some similar tubes on ebay for some time now (no affiliations):

Just wondering if they are the same thing, because they will probably be much cheaper.

I'm also looking into the Raynox DCR-250; has anyone used it, and how do you think it compares?

I found some even cheaper ones on eBay (£19 for 10mm and 16mm) and they seem to work fine with AF. Examples to follow :)
