My wife and I were watching the birdfeeder yesterday when we noticed a female cardinal and an immature cardinal (notice the blotchy red feathers on the breast) engaged in an unusual behavior (for us anyway). The immature was "quivering" its feathers like it was shivering. Then they would both hop to another position and repeat the behavior.

Finally, the female fed the immature bird. We realized it had been begging!

Then this AM I was admiring the male cardinal (he is a show piece of goods, afterall) when I noticed a "lurker" above him.

All captured with the FZ200.
