    Fuji DPR Review of X-E1

Believe it or not I shoot moving kids with MF with a pretty sweet keepers rate. Focus Peaking is the magic that allows this to happen. Oh, that's with wide open fast primes, too...

    Fuji DPR Review of X-E1

That was not my point. I have NEX cameras that are not blazingly fast and that's fine with me, as is the X-E I have on loan. What I DON'T want is false claims by either manufacturers or reviewers, because there ARE people who *need* fast autofocus up to Panny G or E-M5 standards, and those...

    Fuji DPR Review of X-E1

"Indeed Fujifilm claims the X-E1 and X-Pro1 now offer AF speeds competitive with benchmark cameras such as the Olympus OM- E-M5." They should be sued for issuing such nonsense... I shot the X-E extensively this week with the 35/1.4 (both running the latest FW) and they were painfully matching...

Fuji Well I did it , New member 2 days ago, and now New steward of an XE1.

We went to VT and had the most horrendous weather I ever got during any vacation. Despite that I enjoyed it (my husband didn't), and really pray to be able to get a US based vacation again in 2013. both with the CZ :)

Welcome !! My NEX sure performs and delivers like a "proper camera" (wink) but contratulations on the X-E, it's a superb machine, with excellent lenses.

Fuji X20 a Classy or stylish?

Absolutely black, like the other X cameras I either own or use, an X10 and a X-E1, both black and beautiful. I dislike two tone cameras and if I'd gotten the X100, it would have been the black edition.

Thinking about growing the S.C. Network, again...

Sounds like my mom's place ! She was writing herself for a living (now retired, but her daily e-mails are a mile long each, lol). I grew up surrounded by books. There was no digital print then (or anything virtual, for that matter), and we had a tactile and emotional bond with books, drawings...

Micro 4/3 Panasonic 45-150mm Anyone got one?

I can only comment that I had a rather underwhelming copy of the 45-200, returned it. Then bought a used Oly 40-150 (1st gen) and it was just way better than it had any right too, in every way. Loved this lens !!

Thinking about growing the S.C. Network, again...

I may be wrong, but I think as of now, Talknex has a bunch of actual picures being posted, and that daily, by a good number of members. It is also, though I'm member of all four sites, the nicest, coolest, more laid back and compelling photo community I've ever seen on the net. So we have the...

Fuji Is the X-E1 for me?

The GX-1, G3 etc from Panasonic have totally reliable face detection, which is also very speedy and just great overall. By comparison, Face Detection in the NEX cameras (which I am a fan of, own and shoot by choice) is a lame joke...

Fuji Tell us your real name...

Fuji XE1 initial comments (feel free to post your own)

I tried the X100 and it didn't work for me, and the X Pro is too big. The XE strikes the perfect balance for me. Not that it brings anything truly significant over my NEX 7 though....

I have a loaner X-E1 since last thursday, that I must decide whether to buy or not, by this coming thursday... I'm really torn. Fuji XE1 focus peaking?

While I understand what you're saying, I use it all the time on my NEX bodies and it's allowed me to capture portraits I really like with legacy lenses.. I have the oppotunity to buy a mint X-E I have on loan right now, and peaking would be the extra nudge I need to commit. Without it, I...

Fuji Fuji X-E1 killed the Nikon kit for me

No, no, not a better camera ! Either my explanation was flawed, or your didn't read it carefully. What I actually said is that after over 6 months with various NEX bodies, i've grown to know them very well and be able to get the results I want very easily, while there is a learning curve on the...

Fuji Fuji X-E1 killed the Nikon kit for me

Hmm, I'm not entirely surprised. Though the D700 was my most loved camera ever (and I think I might be the user on all Amin's sites combined who's owned or at least used the most different digital bodies in the past 12 years, with or without mirror), and the D600 looks on paper to be even...

Fuji Is the X-E1 for me?

Hey Frenchman (by the way, I'm a French woman, lol). I'm in the process of testing a E-X1 right now, with 35/1.4 attached. I've been a NEX shooter for about 7 months, and spent 7 months with the GX-1 before that. I tried the E-M5 but hated the size, buttons, and I go mental with Olympus menus...

Why are there no 50mm fixed focal length serious compacts?

I'd be in ther market for one. I tried an X100 and couldn't live with it, I hated the EFL immediately. OTOH I love shooting a NEX body with the SEL35 or the X-E with the 35/1.4. The 50mm EFL is the widest I want to go. In fact I guess my perfect cam would be a 35-50 (50-75 EFL) F2.0 with APS-C...

Fuji Learning w/ film vs learning w/ digital

Interesting discussion. For me it's a bit of both. Digital is invaluable with its instant feedback, and even more so now with full time exposure preview. For me the is the ultimate learning tool, seeing the impact of any setting before you even take the shot. Ever since I got into mirrorless I...

Fuji The X10 brought the joy back

Yes ! I do the same. Though I have a bunch of pretty desirable cameras around me, and so far the NEX 7 is my main tool, I often just handle the X10 for kicks, and snap a couple of shots to make sure it IS as insanely good as I believe it to be. And to my ever renewed surprise, it is. In fact I...

Fuji Fuji x-e1 Black vs Silver

Black !! The lack of OVF makes the silver solid bar on top look really... solid (as in "weird"). On the black version the lack of OVF window isn't so obvious. Also, I love the fact the black is just a bigger version of my beloved X10.

Everybody is different. I bond (or not) very quickly initially, it's a matter of hours. Sure, any camera take longer than that to get to know, but I always follow my gut reaction. Fuji Should I just drop M4/3's

The biggest, unmentioned issue here, is how "fast" do you need to shoot. The GX-1 is extremely snappy and reactive while the X100.... well. It has its focusing quirks and own decisions for sure ! Now I much prefer the output of the X100, but for me it has proven annoying to the point of...

Fuji AF speed X10 and X100

I have both at home at the moment, with latest FW for both. There's NO comparison for my units. The X10 is reasonably fast on most occasions, the X100 locks focus ONLY when it decides to, and is pretty pedestrian at doing so. Result : I use the X10 daily and the X100 stays in the cupboard.

    Fuji Newbie X10-er

Welcome to you :) Like you I've used DSLRs for the past 12 years and many other mirrorless, but I can tell you that the X10, that I acquired only recently, is the sole and only camera I'm taking on trips from now on. It's good enough to leave the other bodies behind. I bet the X20 is gonna be...

    Fuji X10 for beginner

I think the X10 can be a good introduction, in that you can work your way up from Auto or Scene modes to semi automated modes with some choices (aperture or speed) to full manual.
