Bags Please help me solve a bag conundrum...

what aspect of a dedicated photo section matters to you?

If it's just protection, there are photobag type inserts for turning ANY bag into a photography bag? Would that do the trick for you?
Access, predominantly. I've tried inserts in non-dedicated photo bags and once everything is piled on top (or vice versa) you've had it.

I'd like to point out that none of the black nylon bags that were suggested are truly wannabe-SAS. They're more 'hey people, there's fancy electronics in here!'. If you really wanna see some wannabe SAS gear, google "tactical bag"..... it's not truly ninja if it doesn't have a bunch of molle loops plus a secret concealed carry compartment for your pistol:jedi:

Many of those tactical bags are supremely functional though. I'm personally looking for a smallish messenger bag that combines the utility of a tactical bag with more of an outdoorsy hipster look (indeed canvas and/or leather), or at least somewhat discreet.

Regarding National Geographic bags: I have a sling bag from their Earth Explorer series. It's tough as nails and quite pretty, but I feel the design hasn't been thought through as much as some other bags I've seen.

:laugh1:short of "NinjaPack", that's the most Ninja-ish name I've ever heard for a backpack :p thankfully it looks somewhat friendlier than it sounds ;)

When you think about it, "Covert Dark Shadow" is even more Ninja than "NinjaPack" LOL!

"...and then The Lightmancer slung the Covert Dark Shadow on his back and walked down the dark, mysterious alleyway...."

Titter ye not, my friends, for the covert dark shadow lurks in every corner... ;)

Yes, it's a compromise but it looks like everything is, one way or another. My concern is actually that it will be quite heavy in it's own right...

Well...

The Dark Shadow is enormous. It's actually bigger than the very big photo backpack that holds most of my kit when not in use and is too big to do anything beyond sitting in a corner of my office. In fact it's so big it has it's own weather system...

The samsonite is on order.

The samsonite is on order.

So... how do you like it?

I've been looking for a similar bag for months now and that Samsonite is oddly enough a god candidate. Is the color really as the pictures? Looks a bit reflective.

I'm tired of having one week/work bag and then change equipment to a week end backpack. I'm looking for a backpack that
1) Can carry a 14" laptop;
2) Can fit one mirrorless body plus three lenses on proper slots/dividers;
3) Doesn't immediately look like a camera bag. Being grey or brown would be nice;
4) Relatively formal, that I can carry to work but that could also be a weekend bag;
5) Have side access for the camera;
6) Not to big nor heavy.

Besides the Samsonite, not a lot of candidates so far:
a) https://www.amazon.co.uk/BAGSMART-R...463352&sr=1-7&keywords=backpack+laptop+camera
b) Advanced camera and laptop backpack Travel Grey for DSLR

And what looks like ideal, but not cheap nor yet available:
The Everyday Backpack, Tote, and Sling

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread, but this one already has information that can help others in the future, so I though it would be better to keep it on the same place.

Can anyone provide inputs on the options below?

2) Lowepro StreetLine BP 250

Thanks!
