I had a trip into London today for a hospital appointment at 9am. I took the 6am commuter train for the 3/4hr journey to give me time t try out the new Ricoh GRii and the Sony RX100 Mk3 prior to and post appointment.

I have to say, I enjoyed the Sony. The focus seemed so fast to me it was very much like snap focus on the Ricoh.

Here are a few of the Sony shots

Ray.....you are the yardstick. Bruce Gilden could learn a whole lot from you.
Thanks so much Pete. But I don't think he and I are even remotely after the same thing. I think he's looking for the confrontation while I'm looking for human interaction but trying very hard not to be PART of that interaction, or even to be noticed at all. I wouldn't want any part of shooting like he does and I'm sure he wouldn't want anything to do with shooting like I do, not that he'd eve have occasion to see what I do.

Hey, I was walking around Philly with Don shortly before I shot these - your name came up! Maybe some of his mojo, and yours, rubbed off on me... ;)

Exactly Ray, he could get some of that "human" interaction rather than the startled "reaction" I witnessed here in London. I have seen some of his other stuff and there is no doubt, he is a great photographer. I just don't understand where he gets off on this confrontational side to his work; why he needs to do it.

Yep, Don mentioned he had seen you. I still aim to get out there just 1 more time (2 times if I can get away with it) Mrs T is 60 this year and I am taking her to Italy in May to see the Calendimaggio in Assisi, then we are off to Australia for 3 months. The wallet is taking a real pasting this year.....so.....hopefully next year NYC/Philly is on the cards.
