WINNER ANNOUNCED - The Fourth Photographers' Lounge Salon Challenge - "Through the Looking Glass"

I went on a little day trip yesterday where I took this photo. I was trying to convey looking through a portal, or looking glass if you will, to a time long past.

Specifically, you are looking through a public stockade at the remains of a church from the 1700's. Both are located on the Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson historic site, situated on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina.

I love this image, Bill.

Okay, I am changing mine... I had another idea, which I thought would work, but didn't, so I am going with this instead - Lewis Carroll taught at a school in Guildford and there are a couple of "Alice" statues there as a result. This is a detail of one, as she passes "through the looking-glass"...

Oh I didn't really notice the salon going on but yes that shot's so well seen and such a creative, imaginative response to the theme ... A very deserved winner

Thanks everyone! I was doing a pizza story recently and found myself at DiFara Pizza in Midwood, Brooklyn. I must say, it's the best pizza I've ever had, with great ingredients perfectly prepared. There's a long wait, so I spent some time (over the course of two trips there) to capture the place:

The pizza doesn't look like much but boy oh boy is it special.

It figures that the "best" shot was taken with the little Pentax Q LOL. I'll make it back there someday, take more photos, and savor the pie.

I'll start working on a theme for the next contest!

Thanks again!
