I wish somebody with competence would try this, post the results, and let us know what they think

I've tried using the aqua sliders in Lightroom and I don't find it to be as effective as modifying cyan in PS CS3.

To the point that Dale raised; I'm not sure what the latest iteration of Photoshop uses for individual colour channels and whether it still has cyan, but I assumed that Photoshop shared a lot of that basic functionality with Lightroom.
 
I have Photoshop CC and they still have Cyan under the Hue/Saturation channel still. Seems weird that the Aqua channel wouldn't work as well. I figured it was just a name change like they did with the fill light or w/e they used to call the shadows and highlight sliders.
