two from the GX1

Two photos taken with my Lumix GX1, an underrated but very cool camera. In this case, using Sigma's 30mm 'Art' lens -

The first, converted to monochrome -

The second, a color treatment - using the GX1's built in 'Miniature' filter, which creates a selective defocusing 'diorama'-style effect - which I rather like, on occasion -

For almost a year now I have been using the Dp Merrill's as my main camera's.For the past three years I have been taking photographs of an annual open water swimming event, all proceeds going toward a worthwhile charity. It is early to mid evening at the end of August , the light is not great so dared not use the Sigma's as they would not have faired well for waht I wanted. So I dusted down the E-M5 and 45 f1.8, put the 75f1.8 in my pocket but it never got used as I was mixing closely with the swimmers at the end of the swim, the 45mm I think did capture the atmosphere , or at least i hope it did.

Most shot at iso 2000, and had about 147 keepers out of 180.

I would say, judging from the results, that the combination of the E-M% and the 45mm f/1.8 gives startlingly good to great results. These photos have a crispness and a presence which is very cool. Nice images!
