Thanks, Bart and Kyle. I'm not typically a fan of selective color either, especially when an image is otherwise fully desaturated, but playing around with some sliders on this one just said something to me.
There's a moment of hesitation when you first see it, where you initially think it might just be naturally low saturation, and not manipulated. Then the second story of the station being so clearly b&w breaks the spell.
Second owner of my X100. It's definitely my favorite of all the digital cameras I've owned. Makes me wonder why I just purchased a used Canon EOS M with 22mm lens, but the $259 price tag seemed criminally low.

(The last one reminds me of a local weather phenomenon on the Canary islands, the calima, where every other year or so some kilo- or megatons of that brownish sand are blown over from the Western Sahara by some strong easterly, up to 40+ deg.
