Single In Single in April (SiA) 2024 - day 16

Sorry, both my wrists are strapped up at the moment and it is slowing me down - tendonitis - ###### sore - but self inflicted - yeah, I'm looking at you, Steam Deck! Hopefully resolve soon.

    Ouch, hope it resolves soon.

I really can't pretend I am a plant expert because I'm just guessing this a lime (I only ever see them occasionally sliced in my drinks when I'm at the pub) but Google suggests it could be lack of magnesium in the soil if it is indeed a lime!

Single In Single in April (SiA) 2024 - announcement

Turned out to be a Good Friday as my new to me Fujifilm 35 F2 arrived unexpectedly early today so I will be able to pair it with my new XT5 for this challenge.

Single In Single in April (SiA) 2024 - announcement

I've been busy selling off some of my old gear that were just gathering dust/cobwebs on the shelf. I had thought about using some of the funds to buy a Nikon Zf but the size in the photographs had me concerned it would be as cumbersome (to me) as the DF. It doesn't help that I've not seen the...

Single In Single in April (SiA) 2024 - announcement

I'll join in, hopefully enthusiastically. I've been in a bit of slump over this winter (basically hibernating at nights and weekends) but hopefully I'll start to pick up as the days get drier/brighter/longer. Will let you know nearer the time what set up I'll be using. I finally stopped...

    Food "On the Road"

Carry on with the thread Steve, I'm still looking. I don't eat out very much unless I'm away on holiday. I work from home so most of my meals are made direct from my kitchen. Now if there was a thread for disasters from the kitchen, my husband would probably nominate a few of my creations...

Crikey, just googled that too! what can I say, we are a passionate bunch!

I had a stroke last night

John, I had to Google what you meant by cactus. In Scotland we usually just say a variety of rude words. I think of cacti as being prickly, tough and able to live a long time in harsh, dusty, dry environments. I suspect your nurses and doctors think you are a bit prickly, your humour through...

I had a stroke last night

You are probably best to speak to your pharmacist if you are juggling a lot of medication and are unsure. Medicine is their area of expertise, not the docs. The docs shouldn't have left it to you to work out the timings for all the different medication. Some medications you can't take...

I had a stroke last night

Sorry to hear that John. Wishing you a quick recovery. Listen to your docs, I hear most of the time they know what they are talking about!

I'm deferring all new resolutions for another year. I've still not done last year's ones!

Challenge! Cameraderie Challenge #65 - Responsibility - WINNER ANNOUNCED

Well done Mike! Thanks Bart for starting this challenge again. It was a tough one - who'd have thought responsibility would be a hard thing to see.

Challenge! Cameraderie Challenge #65 - Responsibility - WINNER ANNOUNCED

While visiting the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston in 2018 I came across this wet floor sign and delightful puddle in the gallery. I don't think it was an exhibit but it is really hard to tell some times with modern art. The placing of the wet floor sign in the puddle demonstrated...

    Feedback Site lag?

I've not been having any issues. Photos loading up fine. Just scrolled through the birds in flight thread. Less than 2 seconds for the first image on each page to load then the rest are already loaded as I scroll down. It's acceptable to me.

    Food "On the Road"

Fish and chips at the Berneray Shop and Bistro, in Isle of Berneray, in June this year

    Food "On the Road"

Flower Burger in Milan, 2018. Visited a couple of times so their colourful vegan burgers must have been good.

    Basketball with Fujifilm

It looks like the Heights players live up to their name - they look really tall in comparison to the other team's players.

    Food "On the Road"

Quick snack in a foodhall near B&H in New York, 2017. It tasted better than it looked. Chopstick etiquette questionable but no one was watching.

    Your X-Mas gift/present (Non-photographic related)

I've not had chocolate for months so a bar of chocolate is top of the list, a couple of jigsaws and a couple of books (for the dark cold nights of winter) and a weekend Christmas break in Belfast.

    Your X-Mas gift/present (Non-photographic related)

My husband would be wearing the pans if he bought them for my Christmas. If cooking was a hobby rather than a chore ..... hmmmm... nope, he'd stil be wearing them! Actually, he'd be using them, he cooks more than I do.

    Food "On the Road"

These dishes at least look healthy. It was a very, very popular vegan restaurant in Tallin, Estonia in March 2022. We were lucky to get a table. COVID restrictions were still in place so you needed to show proof of vaccinations and photo ID before you were allowed to sit in at any restaurant...

    Food "On the Road"

Although I've been mostly veggie for a few years (only recently started eating fish again) I'm looking back at my old food photos from my travels and I'm struggling to find any that look healthy!

    Food "On the Road"

I feel I need to send you some veg. Although I see that you at least had a little bit of broccoli in 2022, and some green stuff here and there this year. Maybe by 2025 there will have been enough to count it all as a side salad!! :)

    Ai generated images / art

I've stopped trying to get AI to produce a photograph of just a man on the beach. The AI men all seem to have the same problem - they are simply unable to keep their pants up, trousers up or shorts up. If they were real I would blush!

    Food "On the Road"

I need to start eating out again but rarely do unless I am traveling. This is another one from the past. Pizza slices in New York from 2017. Yum! You can't really go to New York without trying a few pizza slices. We tried more than a few!

Street Crazy time in Ft. Worth

Wow, that looks really interesting/fun, Mel. I've never seen longhorn cattle in real life (just in pictures). They look pretty impressive but I don't think I'd want to get too close to them. It's good to see you are embracing life and spending quality time with your family. Have a happy...
