Ricoh Best complimentary longer lens cam to go with GR?

Both the GR and the DP3M are 'I can't believe it' cameras: I can't believe the quality of the output of the GR considering it's pocketability and I can't believe the clarity of the output from the Merril.

Ricoh My Ricoh GR photos are not really sharp. Please help.

The camera will apply some sharpening to it's jpgs but not to RAWs, if using RAW you can apply the amount of sharpening you require in post.

Sigma I simply cherish Sigma DPMs :)

My DP2M and DP3M are often used on a Gorilla pod, this solves the ISO issue nicely. I process the RAWs on a MacBook and honestly have never seen any of the issues that people moan about. Ricoh argghh my GR rant

My travel kit is a GR, A Sigma DP3M and an X100 for IR plus a Gorilla pod. This little trio covers the majority of situations, gives me the IQ I crave and weighs a lot less than my canon DSLR kit. My GR has been faultless thus far and I have learned to love the 28mm equivalent field of view.

    Infrared Gear IR Filter + X100 = ...?

Actually, the X100 can be used for handheld IR photography with an R72 filter ( 720 nm ). The sensor has a better than average sensitivity to IR. In fact since obtaining a Ricoh GR the R72 filter is permanently attached to my X100 ( also works with X100S/T). A tripod is also useful in some...

    Hello from Mumbai

Hi, I've joined Serious Compacts because I am in the process of transitioning from a DSLR biased approach towards compacts. This move has been catalysed by the Fuji X 100 and then more recently the Sigma DP2M. I've had a Ricoh GRD3 for a long time and then last year got a Powershot G1X...

    Review or User Experience?

I have had terrible advice from camera stores in the past and find that the combination of online reviews and blogs enables me to form an opinion sufficiently robust to make a buying decision. My last three compact camera purchases ( G1X, X100, DP2M) were in fact all made with the full...
