I've been wondering trough Japan for one month.

Hey mates!
How are you doing?
Just wanted to say that i made a real "street" review of the mighty Ricoh GR.
Have a look to see some good street shots i made with it!

Hi mates! It's bin a little bit of time since i've been out of this forum.
I want to share with you a little piece i wrote about one of my favourite photographer: Martin Parr.
It's full of great tips for street photography.
You should definetely take a look if you like Martin work...
I'm sorry i attached the wrong link - i updated it so now it's working well.
Btw thank you all! You are too kind, i am really happy that you appreciate my photography.
@Lawrence: I also owned a Bessa R and a Bessa R3. They definetively have an amazing viewfinder, but i didn't like the plastic...
Hi mates!
Finally i had some free time to write something on my photoblog.
I wrote a review of the Revue400SE, a fixed lens rangefinder sporting a 40mm 1.7 lens. It's probably the same camera of the Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII with some minor differences.
Here is the review: 无法访问此网站

Dear pdh,
First of all I'm glad that you like my pictures.
I totally agree with you.
In fact the article was about film as a teacher as you correctly understood.
Film or digital doesn't matter, but if you are new in photography you can be "defeated" by all the automatism of digital cameras...
Ciao entropic remnants
Of course film is a technology, i totally agree with you.
But i understand that you didn't read/understand my article at all.
You didn't get the point out of it.
Film is not magic at all.
Digital is not magic at all.
From my article : "3.Film and digital are...
Hi flash! I think it can be the same. But only if you shoot everything manual, you tap your LCD and you don't watch your photos at the pc when you come back home but wait some days-a week before doing it. Of course you will improve your photography! I envy your Leica ;)
Here it's an article i wrote about my experience of shooting for 6 months with only a Leica IIIc, a 50mm lens and Tmax400.
What can YOU learn shooting film for 6 months?
I Hope that you mates will like it!
Peace,
Giorgio
Lawrence i totally agree with you: everyone has some preferences, so there is no universal HOLY GRAIL in photography or in cars or in everything else! ;-)
Thanks demiro!
It's really funny that I was actually thinking of a rx100 for the bigger sensor and pocketability. So how do you compare the two cameras?
And that's fine! I see your point of view. :)
X10 is the only digital (And zoom) camera i have, even if i use it only at 35mm equivalent (if you read my review you know that i bought it instead of a x100).
Btw i think the point should be: let's enjoy what we have, it's A LOT! :-)
Ciao!
@Ray; Now i understand what you do mean. But i don't agree :-) This is digital lazyness! I am used to film so i'm totally happy that i can CHANGE iso settings without changing a roll. That's enough for me but of course everyone has different needs. Cheers!
@Richard: I can't see a problem about the 4:3 ratio: you can crop it to 3:2 later if you don't like it ;)
@ray:why didn't you like the iso settings? I set the fn button for iso so I can change it in less than one second...
Hi mates!
I made a review of the little black gem we love, the X10.
If anyone is interested in reading about it and seeing what this camera is capable of, you can find it here: “STREET REVIEW”: THE FUJI X10
Peace,
Giorgio

Thanks don! This is a HUGE compliment! i can say that maybe using the spot metering for the high lights helps.
I also want to say that i added grain in post production, original files are smoother!
This is my personal vision of this really famous religious festival. To understand his importance, last year there was McCurry shooting it, and in 2005 there was Koudelka!!!
That was my first time shooting it, i found it really dramatic and tried to shot in the most personal way.
Comments and...
Hi guys!
Does anyone know where to download some raw files of the x10? Or maybe someone of you can upload them?
I need various conditions shots like iso 100-400-1600 and some with dr400 at iso 100...as our member sardoniconic said is the best setting!
I'd like to test all the camera...
Hey guys!
Take a look at this great interview about street photography.
There are some great street shots in the article, and some of them are made with our beloved X100!
Take a look and leave an opinion if you want!
