Nikon Showcase Nikon Coolpix A Image Thread

Tom, great shots! Lots of water on the high falls. I made up to the North of Duluth, but not that far when I lived in St Paul...

In spite of some deep shadow pixellation here, the Coolpix A as a JPEG only shooter pleases me to no end. As an APS-C camera, I'm amazed at the small size and that the lens folds into the body completely. If they have a new version on the way, I'm in line already.

Nice shots Dale. It really is amazing that Nikon (and Ricoh with the GR) were able to create such an amazing camera in such a tiny package...both lenses perform brilliantly at just about any aperture all the way through to the corners, even if corner performance is not your thing (it's not mine) it is still an amazing achievement given that quite often lenses many times larger cannot even go close.

Great shots everyone....Still waiting for the Nikon "B"

A local wetland flooded at high tide, pushing up against the deluxe high-rise condos at right. To my knowledge, each condo was recently assessed in the area of $30k for major repairs, after sitting on the edge of this wetland for 15 years or so.

Flew up to Sydney for a couple of nights with friends and took the A along, photography never quite works for me when travelling with larger groups, but it was great to get reacquainted with this camera again none the less. Way more misses than hits withmuch work needed to get the speed of finger a little closer to the speed of eye.

Very good photos and processing there and I was particularly interested to see the camera settings applied. I'm a resident Sydneysider (but I'm not from here) and personally find Melbourne a more interesting place to shoot (it's more of a city).

Thanks.
It's interesting how different cities can leave different impressions on people. Both cities can get quite hectic and both are usually bristling with activity...long into the night/morning. Downtown Sydney I feel has a more interesting layout, Melbourne can be a little predictable with its streets neatly arranged in a grid pattern of perfect right angles.....Sydney however has a greatly more complex geography (thanks to that stunning harbor) which I find can be more fun to explore.
