It's been really hot and humid here a lot as well, and some serious rain days too. I used to be hard core enough to ride through almost any of that. But these days I can barely handle temps in the upper 80's if there's any humidity around. And I used to ride through the winter too, but now I don't go much below about 50-55. But when we get a few nice days in a row, like we've had this week (mid 80's but low humidity), I'm out there. I did another 20 today, pretty easy, but with one killer hill in the middle of it. A decent section at about 8%, which isn't a problem, but then a right turn from 8% onto a hill that's about 14-15%. That was a BIG problem. My climbing isn't anywhere near where it was, either in terms of duration or grade, and that grade was all I could do to get up. And with yesterday's hilly 30 still in my legs, I was a hurting pup by the time I got back to my town today...Very nice Ray. I like the pastoral feel to the landscape. I ride and unfortunately we have been in the heat index range of 100+ for about 3 weeks so I haven't enjoyed it quite as much. I'm glad you are back in the saddle.
