Cormorant, Reed - a different "take"

1/100th sec - so there is intended movement in the shot

always trying something different with bird shots

Corm.jpg

here another couple - trying to capture intentionally, movement, with a sharpe base element

just aiming for something different than the usual

Bill, none of your recent additions is showing for me. When I let the dogs out this evening, I noticed that a Robin has taken her place in the nest that appeared a few days ago. I think I'll be shooting baby birds this year. :cloud-9-039:

There's nothing quite like watching a nest and then recording the hatchlings as they grow. I did it with hawks and with a hummingbird nest right outside my front door. It was amazing both time. Have fun!

We had a cardinal that occupied some trees with a bird feeder at our old apartment complex. Tried for 4 years to get a good shot.

I put a bird feeder out in a garden in the front of our house a few months ago, and caught this guy snacking. Taken through the front dining window with E-PL5 and 40-150mm at 150mm.

Meadow Pipit nest
by barrie.whitehall, on Flickr

The nest of a Meadow Pipit near Petre's Pit on Dartmoor at an altitude of 460 metres, built on the ground into Purple Moor Grass and Bilberry. Meadow Pipit is the favourite host on Dartmoor for the Cuckoo, however with no trees or other perches nearby the Meadow Pipits nesting this high are free of such worries.
