Hopefully I haven't missed an existing thread but if I have please let me know. Otherwise please do share your lighthouse images. Here is a shot of one of the few lighthouses here in Western Australia, the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse {01_04} by Andrew Priest (Aushiker), on Flickr This photograph continues my social history project documenting both the mundane and the interesting in Western Australian through the medium of Waymarking [1]. The Cape Naturaliste lighthouse is a heritage listed building/lighthouse which was built in 1904. According to the Heritage Council the: "Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and Quarters was an important link in the development of coastal lights which eventually circled mainland Australia, following an inter-colonial conference held in 1873 that recognised the need for additional lights along the Australian coastline. The Chance Brothers lens and optical equipment is still in operation in the lighthouse and is a piece of precision engineering equipment which has continued in perfect working order since 1903." Bird photography is most often associated with heavy SLR bodies that shoot at machine gun speed with long lenses nicknamed as 'Bazookas'. Show photographs of birds taken with compact cameras.
I'll start, entitled "Road to nowhere". Taken with G1 plus kitlens. Picasa was my friend.
